|
Founded in 1859, by King Pedro V, the Humanities School of the University of Lisbon (Faculdade de Letras) has nearly twenty departments, institutes and research centres devoted to teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses, conferring BA, MA, PhD and Post-Doctoral degrees, and to advanced research in the Humanities. The Humanities School is associated with other schools in the University of Lisbon, as well as with several other national and international institutions, in interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degrees and in various research projects funded by national and international agencies. It is a leading, if not the, leading institution of its kind in the country.
